Basketball Recap: Southern Choctaw Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Southern Choctaw put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game with ease, bagging a 73-44 victory over the Choctaw County Tigers. With the Indians ahead 37-16 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Southern Choctaw's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braylen Jones, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine steals. Jones is also crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Demarco Johnson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Southern Choctaw smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 18 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Choctaw County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaydon Thomas, who posted 12 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Jarrod Chaney, who went 9 of 19 on his way to 18 points and five boards.
