Baseball Game Preview: Valley View Eagles vs. Boyd Yellowjackets

Valley View is 0-4 against Boyd since March of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Valley View Eagles will welcome the Boyd Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. Valley View has given up an average of 12.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Valley View came into this matchup off a tough 18-run defeat on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Pilot Point by a score of 13-11 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since April 19, 2024.

Meanwhile, Boyd had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Yellowjackets have posted since February 28th.

Boyd pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Valley View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
