Baseball Recap: Chen Takes a Loss

Chen couldn't beat Carroll Christian on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Chargers fell just short of Carroll Christian by a score of 7-6. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Carroll Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Samuel Lee stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Tanner Viernes, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Chen dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Carroll Christian, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5.

Coming up, Chen will challenge Mount Airy Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carroll Christian, they will square off against Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
