Baseball Game Preview: Charlotte Christian Knights vs. Providence Day Chargers

For the second straight game, Charlotte Christian will face off against Providence Day. Charlotte Christian will head out on the road to square off against Providence Day at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Charlotte Christian has four straight victories, Providence Day has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Charlotte Christian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Providence Day, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Charlotte Christian never let Providence Day get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Tuesday. That eight run margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

The result came thanks to Grant Nicholson's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Owen Farrell, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Cohen Bettencourt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

Charlotte Christian's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Providence Day, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
