Soccer Game Preview: Brownsburg vs. Pike

The Brownsburg Bulldogs will challenge the Pike Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brownsburg's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Brownsburg's offense. They came up short against Zionsville on Wednesday, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Brownsburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Zionsville are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Pike got the win against Ben Davis on Wednesday by a conclusive 6-2. The result was nothing new for Pike, who have now won nine matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Ben Davis with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Aniyah Bishop (3), Ashley Lemus (2), and Katie Lopez.

Pike is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five contests. As for Brownsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-4.

Everything went Brownsburg's way against Pike in their previous meeting back in September of 2021, as Brownsburg made off with a 4-1 victory. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
