Basketball Game Preview: Days Creek Wolves vs. Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs

The Days Creek Wolves will face off against the Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Days Creek turned things around against Powers on Saturday. They strolled past the Cruisers with points to spare, taking the game 47-32. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Cruisers are ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Umpqua Valley Christian waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 50-24 margin over the Pirates. The Monarchs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.

Days Creek's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-6. As for Umpqua Valley Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Days Creek beat Umpqua Valley Christian 58-47 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Will Days Creek repeat their success, or does Umpqua Valley Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
