Basketball Recap: Abby Affholter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Reading over Pittsford

Reading suffered their closest loss since December 19, 2023 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Pittsford Wildcats by a score of 37-35. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Wildcats are ranked 117th).

Several Rangers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abby Affholter, who posted ten points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Ervans, who earned 13 points and five rebounds.

Reading's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Pittsford, the win keeps them at an undefeated 20-0.

Reading wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 37-34 loss against Stockbridge on the 21st. Pittsford has also already played their next contest (against Litchfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
