Holcomb had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They strolled past the Lakin Broncs with points to spare, taking the game 54-39. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Broncs are ranked 118th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Holcomb's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Lakin, they moved to 4-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Holcomb will face off against Ulysses at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Holcomb is facing Ulysses at the right time seeing as Ulysses is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Lakin, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Elkhart at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th.
