Gillespie is 9-1 against Carlinville since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Ava Parish made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Macie Wright, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Carlinville fell victim to Staunton and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0.

Carlinville's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Gillespie, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 14-6.

Everything went Gillespie's way against Carlinville when the teams last played last Tuesday, as Gillespie made off with a 6-0 win. Will the Miners repeat their success, or do the Cavaliers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
