Millbrook hasn't had much luck against James Wood recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Pioneers will take on the Colonels at 6:00 p.m. Millbrook is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Millbrook is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Handley. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pioneers have posted since October 15, 2024.

Millbrook wouldn't go down easily and took Handley into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 15-10.

Meanwhile, James Wood got the win against Sherando on Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0.

James Wood not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Sherando between 14 and 17 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-17, 25-17.

James Wood's win bumped their record up to 25-2. As for Millbrook, their victory bumped their record up to 19-3.

Millbrook couldn't quite get it done against James Wood in their previous matchup back in October as they fell 3-1. Can the Pioneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
