South Point proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by five) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let the Catawba Ridge Copperheads get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Give South Point's defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Phoebe Smith, who's now up to 16 this season.

South Point has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 81 goals over those 13 matches. As for Catawba Ridge, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.

Looking ahead, South Point will venture away from home to take on Huss at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. South Point are facing Huss at the right time seeing as Huss are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Catawba Ridge, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Clover at 7:00 p.m.
