Football Preview: Winfield Pirates vs. Oakman Wildcats
Winfield has gone a perfect 8-0 against Oakman recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Pirates are taking a road trip to challenge the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Winfield is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
Winfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Carbon Hill 61-13. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Pirates' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 356th).

Winfield's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kyson Key, who rushed for 81 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries, and Garret Beasley, who picked up 58 receiving yards and one score. That's the most receiving yards Beasley has posted since back in August of 2024.

Winfield will have to contain Tyler Thomas as he made an impact in Oakman's last game. He rushed for 120 yards and two TDs. Thomas' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 103 rushing yards.
Oakman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Winfield, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Everything came up roses for Winfield against Oakman in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 34-7 win.
