Basketball Recap: Gilmer County Drops Highest Score of Season Against Meadow Bridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gilmer County). They claimed a resounding 85-27 win over the Meadow Bridge Wildcats. The victory was some much needed relief for the Titans as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Gilmer County's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kolten Holbert, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Holbert has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Ratliff, who posted ten points and six steals.

Gilmer County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Gilmer County's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Meadow Bridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Gilmer County will head out on the road to take on Wahama at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Meadow Bridge, they will face off against Montcalm at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
