Football Game Preview: Howell North vs. Fort Zumwalt West

If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Fort Zumwalt West. On Friday they take on Howell North at 7:00 PM. Fort Zumwalt West will be hoping to build upon the 48-0 win they picked up against Howell North the last time they played.

Fort Zumwalt West have had to suffer through a 3-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Troy-Buchanan, sneaking past 24-21. Junior James Strauss, who rushed for 202 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Fort Zumwalt West's success. One of the most memorable plays of the contest was Strauss's 80-yard touchdown rush in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, Howell North took a serious blow against Holt last Friday, falling 20-56.

Fort Zumwalt West's win lifted them to 1-3 while Howell North's defeat dropped them down to 0-4. We'll find out if Fort Zumwalt West can add another positive mark to their record or if Howell North can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Fort Zumwalt West's step.
