After a string of ten wins, Loyola's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 3-1 to the Santa Margarita Eagles. The contest marked the Cubs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The 3-1 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 24-26, 25-22.

Loyola's loss dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Santa Margarita, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.

Looking ahead, Loyola will challenge Mira Costa at 7:00 p.m. on March 21st. As for Santa Margarita, they will be playing at home against Pacifica Christian at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
