Basketball Recap: Salem Hills Comes Up Short

Salem Hills suffered their biggest loss since February 21, 2024 on Friday. They were beaten by the Timpview Thunderbirds 72-44. The defeat continues a trend for the Skyhawks in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the loss, Salem Hills saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lincoln Beck posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacoby Gustin, who put up eight points.

Timpview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lincoln Holcombe, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 12 points. Another player making a difference was Callen Tollestrup, who earned 11 points.

Salem Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Timpview, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4.

Salem Hills wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-50 loss against Springville on the 31st. Timpview has also already played their next contest, a 59-39 victory against Wasatch on the 31st.
