Softball Game Preview: Tuslaw Mustangs vs. Mogadore Wildcats

The Tuslaw Mustangs will take on the Mogadore Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Tuslaw is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

While Tuslaw's victory against Washington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Tigers 9-8. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Tuslaw let Hadley Porter and Kaydence Chapman run wild. Porter went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Chapman went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four runs gave Chapman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eiley Bolgiano, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI.

Tuslaw was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Mogadore has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.1 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against Revere, falling 11-4. The loss was the Wildcats' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mogadore fell to 9-1. As for Tuslaw, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
