Preview: Otsego Knights vs. Genoa Area Comets
The Otsego Knights will head out on the road to take on the Genoa Area Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Otsego is hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Otsego ended up a good deal behind Maumee and lost 45-26.
Despite the loss, Otsego saw an underclassman step up: Ryleigh O?brien scored four points along with two steals.
Otsego struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-3) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Genoa Area beat Fostoria 50-44 last Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Genoa Area.
Otsego's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Genoa Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Otsego took a serious blow against Genoa Area in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 64-29. Can Otsego avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
