Basketball Recap: Thunderbird Piles Up the Points Against Goldwater

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Thunderbird's strategy against Goldwater on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Thunderbird Titans blew the Goldwater Bulldogs out of the water with a 57-20 final score. Winning may never get old, but the Titans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Leading Thunderbird to victory were Roscella Tsosie and Isabella Illingworth. Tsosie went 7 for 12 en route to 16 points and six steals, while Illingworth dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Tsosie a new career-high in boards (four). Another player making a difference was Parker Stanley, who posted eight points.

When it comes to explaining why Goldwater lost, don't look at Joy Kenfack. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Thunderbird's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-10. As for Goldwater, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Thunderbird wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-18 loss against Paradise Honors on the 31st. As for Goldwater, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-37 victory against Shadow Mountain on the 31st.
