Basketball Recap: Stringer Comes Up Short

Stringer lost against Sylva Bay Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Red Devils lost to the Saints on the road by a 54-37 margin.

Cash Pickel was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 20 points and nine boards for Sylva Bay Academy. Thanks to that strong game, Pickel now owns an excellent 48.8% field goal percentage. Jake Gray also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first rebound of the season.

Stringer's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Sylva Bay Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Stringer will look to defend their home court on Monday against Northeast Jones at 7:15 p.m. As for Sylva Bay Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Kemper Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
