Baseball Game Preview: Cibola Cougars vs. Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls

For the second straight game, Cibola will face off against Carlsbad. The Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Cavemen/Cavegirls at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Cibola is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

Cibola is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Carlsbad by a score of 8-4.

Austin Zapach spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Zach Wood was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daniel Kean, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Carlsbad's loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-6. As for Cibola, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-11.
