Recap: Cottage Cougars vs. Mill Springs Academy
The Cottage Cougars won the last time they faced Mill Springs Academy, and things went their way on Monday too. Cottage came out on top against Mill Springs Academy by a score of 42-31.
Leading Cottage to victory were Finley Love and Alyssa Briggs. Love dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Briggs almost dropped a triple-double on 15 points, nine rebounds, and 12 steals. Briggs has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Pressnall, who scored three points along with 12 steals.
Cottage has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Mill Springs Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
Cottage is on the road again on Wednesday and plays Howard at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Cottage: 29.1, Howard: 23.9) so any points scored will be well earned. Mill Springs Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
