Homewood has enjoyed a eight-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Helena Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Homewood was able to grind out a solid win over Thompson, taking the game 3-1. The victory was just what Homewood needed coming off of a 6-0 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Helena waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. Everything went their way against Oxford as Helena made off with a 10-0 win. With that victory, Helena brought their scoring average up to 3.2 goals per game.
Their offense was hitting Oxford from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal.
Homewood now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Helena, they pushed their record up to 5-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Homewood took their victory against Helena in their previous matchup back in February of 2016 by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Homewood since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
