Football Recap: Peninsula Takes a Loss

The matchup between Peninsula and Esperanza on Friday hardly resembled the 14-7 effort from their previous meeting. The Panthers were outmatched by the Aztecs and fell 49-12. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-6.

When it comes to explaining why Peninsula lost, don't look at Kamran Dowlatshai. Despite the final result, he rushed for 94 yards and one score.

Travis Frazier was the offensive standout of the matchup as he threw for 213 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (157.9). Another player making a difference was Brody Snyder, who rushed for 67 yards and one TD.

Peninsula's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Esperanza, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.
