Basketball Recap: De Soto Extends Winning Streak to Two

New Lisbon came into Friday's game looking for another win against De Soto, but Kylee Venner wouldn't allow it. The De Soto Pirates blew past the New Lisbon Rockets 60-37 on Friday thanks in part to Venner, who went 10 of 25 on her way to 29 points along with eight boards and three steals. The match was her seventh in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sylvia Krueger, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (six).

The win made it two in a row for De Soto and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for New Lisbon, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 5-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. De Soto will venture away from home to challenge Seneca at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Lisbon, they will challenge Cashton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
