Baseball Recap: New London Comes Up Short

New London fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Fitch on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 8-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Whalers of the 4-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

New London moved to 3-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Fitch, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

New London wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-3 victory against Grasso Tech on the 30th. As for Fitch, they will venture away from home to square off against Westerly at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
