Volleyball Recap: Jordan Sao Rodriguez Key Part of Team Effort in Patriots Win

The Beyer Patriots got the win against the Central Valley Hawks on Monday by a conclusive 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Beyer took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-13, 25-6.

Beyer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Sao Rodriguez led the charge by getting 12 assists and five aces. Sao Rodriguez has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more assists the last three times he's played. Brett Bird was another key player, getting ten kills, five digs, and one block.

Sao Rodriguez wasn't the only good server: Beyer was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive matches.

Beyer has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Central Valley is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
