Basketball Game Preview: Skyview Wolverines vs. Pueblo East Eagles

The Skyview Wolverines will take on the Pueblo East Eagles in a tournament on Thursday. Pueblo East took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Skyview, who comes in off a win.

Skyview is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Thursday. They escaped with a win against Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47.

Kenneth Sanchez and Robin Campos Laos were among the main playmakers for Skyview as the former went 9 of 11 on his way to 21 points and the latter posted 11 points and six rebounds. What's more, Sanchez also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Guevara, who put up three points and five steals.

Meanwhile, Pueblo East came up short against Silver Creek on Saturday and fell 56-46. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Skyview will need focus on slowing down Enzo Pecoraro, one of several Pueblo East players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 16 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Trujillo, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds.
