Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northeast Vernon County). Everything went their way against the Wheaton Bulldogs on Friday as the Northeast Vernon County Knights made off with a 66-45 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Northeast Vernon County's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Wheaton, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeast Vernon County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jefferson Independent Day at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th. As for Wheaton, they are taking a road trip to square off against Miller at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
