Southern Lakes recap Oct. 3, 2012

Wilmot's Bennett Kothe recorded the longest rushing play in Southern Lakes this season in his game against Burlington last week. Kothe's team lost to the Demons as he sprinted for 62 yards on the play and finished with 205 in all.

Waterford extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Union Grove, 48-7. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Wolverines.

Wilmot's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Noah Strasser threw for 186 and one touchdown and Erik Nevoso had 82 yards receiving. Matt Christensen helped Wilmot's passing attack out by catching four balls for 53 yards.

Wilmot's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Strasser has thrown for 894 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Christensen has 24 catches for 432 yards. Kothe leads the league in rushing with 464 yards.

A big matchup in Southern Lakes this week will be when Waterford takes on Delavan-Darien. As it stands, Adam Bakken's team is in first, while the Comets are in seventh.

The Wolverines took down the Broncos 48-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
