Softball Recap: Cooper's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Cooper saw some tournament action on Thursday. They came out on top against the Mesquite Skeeters by a score of 9-6.

The team relied heavily on Angelic Gonzalez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ariana Diaz, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Cooper hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive matchups.

Cooper's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-5. As for Mesquite, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6-1.

Coincidentally, Cooper and Mesquite will both be playing Arlington the next time they take the field. Cooper will head out to face Arlington at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, while Mesquite will host them at 10:45 a.m. on Friday.
