Baseball Game Preview: Meridian Hawks vs. Sullivan Redskins

Meridian hasn't had much luck against Sullivan recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hawks will host the Redskins at 4:30 p.m. The last three games Meridian has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Saturday, Meridian didn't have quite enough to beat Shelbyville and fell 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Hawks have lost by just one run.

Dan Enlow made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Thomas, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sullivan had just enough and edged out Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] 4-3 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redskins.

Sullivan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Crowe, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Cooper Christensen, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Sullivan's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-13. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Meridian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.
