Volleyball Recap: Monona Grove Takes a Loss

Monona Grove lost against Watertown back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Silver Eagles fell just short of the Goslings by a score of 2-1. The Silver Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Monona Grove started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-22, 15-8.

Their offense was headlined by Ayla Jarecki and Sedona Paprocki, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Madison Stevens and her ten assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Monona Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Watertown, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season.

Monona Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Sun Prairie East on the 27th. As for Watertown, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Oshkosh West on the 27th.
