The Heard County Braves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 64-56 to Lamar County. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Heard County in their matchups with Lamar County: they've now lost five in a row.
It was another big night for Shakiria Foster, who scored 21 points along with six steals and three blocks for Lamar County. Foster is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Zakiria Foster, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Heard County's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Lamar County, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Heard County will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Crawford County at 6:00 p.m. Crawford County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while Heard County is ranked 185th). Lamar County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Furlow Charter School at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Furlow Charter School comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
