Softball Recap: Handley Tigers vs. Auburn Tigers
After losing to Auburn the last time they met, Handley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Handley Tigers had just enough and edged the Auburn Tigers out 5-4.
Ava Hill was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (she also only allowed one walk). Hill has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Hill was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kam Holloway, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ella Hopper, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
On Auburn's side, Madison Allen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with a home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Hartin, who went 1-for-3 with a home run.
