Soccer Game Preview: Delphian vs. Western Christian

The Delphian Dragons will head out to challenge the Western Christian Pioneers at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Delphian had taken Blanchet Catholic down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Dragons fell just short of the Cavaliers by a score of 3-2. The loss continues a trend for Delphian in their meetings with Blanchet Catholic: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Western Christian lost 4-1 to Taft on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that Western Christian have lost by exactly three goals.

Delphian's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Western Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8-2.

Delphian came up short against Western Christian when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
