Roydell Edison leads Newcomb to victory over Thoreau

Recap: Newcomb Skyhawks vs. Thoreau Hawks

Even though the Thoreau Hawks scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, the Newcomb Skyhawks still came out on top. Newcomb took down Thoreau 74-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Newcomb.

Roydell Edison continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 32 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikal Ashley, who scored 14 points along with five steals.

Newcomb has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Thoreau, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newcomb will take on Wingate at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Thoreau, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Navajo Prep at 7:00 p.m. Navajo Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 308 points over their last four matches.
