Basketball Game Preview: Wellsville-Middletown Tigers vs. Sturgeon Bulldogs

The Wellsville-Middletown Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Sturgeon Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Wellsville-Middletown is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

Wellsville-Middletown came up short against Mark Twain on Friday, falling 56-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Wellsville-Middletown has suffered against Mark Twain since January 12, 2018.

Meanwhile, Sturgeon earned a 46-35 victory over Slater on Friday.

Wellsville-Middletown's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Sturgeon, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Wellsville-Middletown didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Sturgeon in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 43-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wellsville-Middletown since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
