Volleyball Game Preview: Tanque Verde Hawks vs. Cienega Bobcats

The Tanque Verde Hawks will head out to square off against the Cienega Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

On Thursday, Tanque Verde made easy work of Pusch Ridge Christian Academy and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Meanwhile, Cienega got the win against Flowing Wells on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Caballeros: they've now won eight in a row.

While Cienega won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-22, 25-17.

Tanque Verde better keep an eye on Addison Hirschberg. She was instrumental in Cienega's win, getting 16 digs and three aces. Izabella Martinez-Roybal was another key player, getting 16 digs and one assist.

Tanque Verde's win bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Cienega, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Everything went Tanque Verde's way against Cienega when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Tanque Verde made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
