Football Recap: Community Christian Beats Non Varsity Opponent for Their Third Straight Win

Community Christian put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 79-72 win over Non Varsity Opponent. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Community Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hayden Yelverton, who picked up 152 receiving yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 173 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries. Yelverton has been hot for a while, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last 14 times he's played. Parker Dehls was another key signal caller, throwing for 237 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Community Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 283 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 182 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Community Christian's record is now 3-0.

Looking ahead, Community Christian will head out to take on Dallas Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Challis at 7:00 p.m.
