Baseball Recap: Oldenburg Academy Has No Trouble Against Milan

Oldenburg Academy got themselves on the board against Milan on Thursday, but Milan never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Indians. That's two games straight that the Twisters have won by exactly six runs.

Zach Hoff made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Adam Weber was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Oldenburg Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise.

The victory made it two in a row for Oldenburg Academy and bumps their season record up to 6-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Milan, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oldenburg Academy will host Hauser at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Jets will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Twisters surely won't give up without a fight. As for Milan, they will be playing at home against Austin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
