Soccer Game Preview: Boerne vs. Pieper

The Boerne Greyhounds are taking a road trip to take on the Pieper Warriors at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Boerne's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Boerne's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Alamo Heights, sneaking past 1-0.

Meanwhile, Pieper's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. Everything went their way against Alamo Heights as Pieper made off with a 3-0 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by three goals or more this season.

Pieper is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those seven matches. Boerne's victory bumped their record up to 14-6-1.

Boerne beat Pieper by a goal in their previous matchup back in February, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Boerne since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
