Norwayne extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 12-2 in the process. They blew past the Northwestern Huskies 18-4. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by seven runs or more this season.
Abby Workman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, five runs, and five RBI while going 4-for-4. Those five runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Norwayne let Riley Gwinn and Makenna Heyden run wild. Gwinn went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double, while Heyden went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Lonsbury, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
