Volleyball Recap: Futures Extends Winning Streak to Six

Futures entered their tilt with Sacramento on Saturday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Dragons by a score of 2-0. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Dragons, too.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Futures was: they took both sets by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-15.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Futures to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nikka Vinokurov, who had 15 digs and five aces. With that strong performance, Vinokurov is now averaging an impressive 2.1 aces per game. Viktoria Esyutin was another key player, getting 19 assists and six aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Futures was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 13 aces in four consecutive contests.

Futures' win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Sacramento, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Futures didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Rio Linda on the 11th. As for Sacramento, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Foothill on the 11th.
