Softball Recap: College Park's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

College Park had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Freedom by a score of 6-1 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as College Park also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2023.

Savannah Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Avery Rodriguez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Maya Davis was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Freedom, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coming up, College Park will take on Casa Grande in a tournament on Thursday. As for Freedom, they will be taking part in a tournament against Whitney at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
