Basketball Game Preview: Tecumseh Indians vs. Northwest Mounties

The Tecumseh Indians will head out on the road to square off against the Northwest Mounties at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tecumseh will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Tecumseh is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Hudson with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 73-57. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Tigers are ranked 341st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Northwest made easy work of Howardsville Christian on Saturday and carried off a 73-51 win. That looming 73-51 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mounties yet this season.

Tecumseh pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Northwest, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Tecumseh came out on top in a nail-biter against Northwest in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, sneaking past 53-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tecumseh since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
