4A Region II District 13 recap Oct. 9, 2012

Lovejoy extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region II District 13 this week by beating Greenville, 46-13. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.

Lovejoy took down the Lions 46-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Nicholaas La Sane ran for 172 yards in the win.

Sherman's dynamic duo of Dru Smith and Jt Luper proved tough for Denison to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Smith threw for 411 yards and three touchdowns and Luper had 165 yards receiving. Joseph Harvey helped Sherman's passing attack out by catching five balls for 119 yards.

Sherman's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bearcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Smith has thrown for 1772 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Luper has 31 catches for 615 yards. Tre Mask leads the league in rushing with 657 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bearcats take on Wylie East. At the moment, Sherman is in third, while the Raiders are in second.

Greenville made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,566 from 9,659. The improvement came about via a 46-13 victory over Marvin Sedberry's team last week.
