Basketball Recap: Horizon Now 9-3 over Last 12 Games

Desert Mountain came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Horizon, but Ryan Milner wouldn't allow it. The Horizon Huskies snuck past the Desert Mountain Wolves with a 73-69 victory on Thursday thanks in part to Milner, who went 7 of 10 en route to 19 points and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Korn, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Horizon is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Desert Mountain, they dropped their record down to 8-13 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Horizon will venture away from home to take on Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Horizon is facing Chaparral at the right time seeing as Chaparral is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Desert Mountain, they will host Notre Dame Prep at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
