Basketball Recap: Gulf Breeze Find Success

Gulf Breeze proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 26) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They slipped by the Ramsay Rams 61-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Dolphins have posted since December 13, 2024.

Gulf Breeze's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brennen Hill led the charge by going 8-for-12 on his way to 21 points and six assists. Those 21 points gave Hill a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Yelton, who shot 71% from the field to rack up 10 points along with eight assists and six rebounds.

Ramsay's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Williams, who went 5-for-9 en route to 16 points. Thanks to that strong game, Williams now owns an excellent 41.2% three-point shooting accuracy. Marcellous Hall was another key player, putting up 13 points.

The victory got Gulf Breeze back to even at 2-2. As for Ramsay, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Gulf Breeze wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-37 defeat against Fort Walton Beach on the 2nd. As for Ramsay, they have also already played their next matchup, a 44-29 win against Parker on the 3rd.
