Baseball Recap: Masconomet Regional Takes a Loss

Masconomet Regional blew Salem out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Salem got their revenge. The Chieftains fell just short of the Witches by a score of 8-6. That's two games in a row now that the Chieftains have lost by exactly two runs.

Masconomet Regional is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only three runs. As for Salem, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Masconomet Regional will take on Lawrence at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. As for Salem, they will face off against Swampscott at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
